Student Lead Charity Campaign Raises Over £10,000 In Less Than 2 Hours
A group of university student lead volunteers has raised staggering over £10,650 within 2 hours of their #SaveAhmed campaign launch. The target was set to help a five month old baby named Ahmed who needs open heart surgery within the next 7 days.
The volunteers are currently in the biggest Syrian refugee camp in Jordan called Zaatari, and treatment for this condition is a free and straightforward procedure in the UK. However, it costs £10,650 in Jordan.
The trip and the campaign was organised by a British charity Human Relief Foundation (HRF). Team leader for HRF, Khoyrul Shaheed said, “I’m lost for words and I just don’t know how to thank everyone who has supported this appeal. It is a demonstration of the power of good. Thanks to you we can now Save Ahmad. I pray that you are all blessed abundantly.”
