Learning New Language Can Increase Empathy
10-year old William Scannel from Alaska has been learning Arabic after his dad took the family to Jerusalem, Palestine. After coming back William insisted in learning Arabic and since then has attended many seminars and courses. The new language has become part of his life now and according to his dad, it has given him the vehicle to express his most important quality – his empathy for human beings.
William has started his own refugee project called ‘Any Refugee’, which aims to deliver postcards with heartfelt messages of hope to refugee children. Learn more about his project at anyrefugee.org
