Stunning Rare Snow In Sahara Desert
Incredible pictures of snow covering the sand in the Sahara Desert, the largest desert in the world!
Photographer Karim Bouchetata took these pictures in the small Saharan desert town of Ain Sefra, Algeria, on December 19 2016.
It’s surprisingly not the first time this region has seen snowfall, it happened way back in 1979 as well. Temperatures in ‘the Greatest Desert’, which covers countries including Algeria, Chad, Libya, Mali and Morocco, have previously surpassed 47 °C (117 °F).
