Tesco And The Muslim Community Working Together For Charity
Tesco has donated £20,000 worth of food to 20 mosques across the country to help Muslim charities feed those in need.
Tesco is the largest supermarket chain in the United Kingdom and second-largest retailer in the world. They have distributed items ranging from sunflower oil to chapatti flour and rice to mosques in London, Birmingham, Bradford and Leicester.
Matt Clark, world foods manager at Tesco, said: “Ramadan is an important time in the calendar for many of our customers and colleagues.
“As food plays a hugely significant role, we’re proud to offer a delicious range of products and meals at great prices in over 300 of our stores.
“This year, we’re also supporting local communities by donating food products to over 20 mosques across the UK to help feed those in need.”
The mosques are working with local charities to supply hot meals and food parcels to the most vulnerable people.
